Rules of Thumb
After completely reading the Roscelle article and scanning the Jonassen article, I came up with these two rules of thumb.
1. Research and understand what technology is available in your teaching subject area.
2. Understand and be able to use the technology thoroughly yourself in order to benefit your students and their learning.

I like your rules of thumb. It's important that we use technology and understand it so we can be successful in teaching our students. Also I am having trouble posting. It kepts telling me "time-out" and try again. So sorry for the delay. I am trying to get it up.

I do agree. Technology is so very important. We need to take time to understand and keep up to date on it. Technology can be a great resource and can help us and our students learn a great deal.
